Fall 2013

What a gorgeous fall we are having here in Portland this year!  I hope this finds you well and in the midst of a successful fourth quarter. As we head toward year’s end it becomes planning season, thinking about our clients’ 2014 goals and the strategies that will help them be achieved.  Even the routine tactics offer fresh opportunities with the implementation of a new annual plan and renewed program direction.

Thanks for the ongoing partnership and support.  Enjoy the season and don’t forget to plan!

What's new?

New logo!

A big shout out to Megan Zimmer who designed the new A.wordsmith logo.  For a full story on why it’s not my face on the front of things anymore, read this post.

Our new digs

After months of waiting, we are excited to finally be in our new office space.  We remain in the historic Bullier Building in downtown Portland, but have moved to the second floor. The move accommodates our recent growth and provides greater opportunities to collaborate as a team and with clients. The new space has a lot of charm and creativity, and we feel like it is a great representation of A.wordsmith.  Come see us!

Top PR Firm

In August we were recognized by the Portland Business Journal as a Top PR Firm in Portland, ranking 20th on the list.

Client Successes

Kush Handmade Rugs was featured in Rue Magazine as well as Rug Insider News in September.

It’s a privilege to work with some of Portland’s top workplaces.  Check them out in Portland Monthly.

We were tapped as the Portland PR partner for the annual Kiehl’s LifeRide for amFAR in August.

We had the opportunity to concept and organize the local event with a Portlandia flair – complete with pickles, ice cream and kegs of root beer. We secured articles in Portland Monthly, Portland Mercury, Oregonian and a full episode of AM Northwest dedicated to the event. Special Portland guests included Project Runway Winner Michelle Lesniak and singer Stephanie Schneiderman.  The charity ride included the likes of John Corbett, Gilles Marini and Kurt Yaeger.  Not a bad way to spend a morning.

The weather didn’t cooperate over the weekend of Community Vision, Inc.’s Harvest Century ride.  Having to cancel due to extreme conditions, the annual fundraiser still got great pre-event coverage and raised money for an important cause.

Pop Art Pinup will release its 2014 calendar on November 1. We are excited to share that beyond being sold online the calendar also will be available at Bridge City Comics and Future Dreams Books in Portland.

LifeCycle Adventures has expanded operations into Washington’s San Juan Islands.  My husband and I had the opportunity to take a LifeCycle trip through Napa and Sonoma in August – what an amazing experience.  Can’t wait to visit the islands next!

Outside the amazing Luxe Calistoga. An unforgettable way to start our LifeCycle vacation.
